Day 4 of Black Gold: Alphachruch of the Buvontians

Initial Reaction:

This time while playing, I noticed a problem with fighting. Mainly with the skills. It was hard to know when the skill was in cooldown and it required me to look away from my target to check. That was quite annoying to me. The new location was really cool and I felt immersed. Also, when I'm fighting and walking in one direction but face the target to fight, the attack faces the way I was walking and misses. That costed me some time while playing. There was also lag between my attacks and the target actually getting hurt from them and making the damage animation.

First Person Role Playing

I awoke from my nap in the dirt. I stood up and brushed the dirt off me and opened my quest log. From yesterday, I had to defeat some Steam Brawlers in order to recover cable car parts. My notes revealed the location, a little while to the west and I would find a litter of them. I summoned my motorcycle and I rode due west to the marked location on my map. The Steam Brawlers were actually closer to my location than I had expected and so I jumped off my bike and pulled out my massive sword. The brawlers were giant metal structures with knobs and valves everywhere.

They had steam coming out of their arms and back. There were also sparks flying out of its abdomen. I need to watch out for those sparks and make sure to not come in contact with the burning steam. I slashed quickly using my Upper Cut and Pivot Strike as my main attacks. Each time, I avoided the abdomen successfully. The metal monster fell down quickly and I retrieved the parts from it. There were more elsewhere and it didn't look like I had enough parts. While dropping these monsters, I met another warrior fighting them. He had magic abilities and was also collecting parts. He was probably doing the same quest. I decided to leave him alone, I preferred fighting alone after all.

The parts were soon collected and I drove back to Fareson the Head Guard. He took the parts with glee and gave me the next misson's details. There have been sightings of Ash Scouts. The word scouts made me feel like we were exposed. Fareson noticed that and he told me that they might connected to bigger Darkfire groups. He pushed me away and wished me good luck. I went the opposite way this time to get to the Ash Scouts. I had soon entered Rockway County, a deserted and dusty place with cactus everywhere. There were also a lot of enemies along the way. I decided to fight them so that I would get stronger. There were many wolves and scuttlers in the way. Taking them down was easy and I didn't even lose any damage. That's when I saw my real target, the scouts. I had no idea how they were going to fight so I just charged at them and that seemed to work. The Ash Scout was surprised and didn't fight back immediately. I successfuly flinched him! I just stroke again and again and in three hits, he was down.
He didn't have much to loot off him though. No notes or anything, just some coin. The second scout I fought was more prepared, he wore a suit and even dodged my attacks but he still lost to me and I took his coins as well. After defeating three of them, I ended up with coins and some Black Gold Fragments, not sure what those are for yet. It seems I could make something with them, maybe a strong weapon!

The quest needed to be handed into Agra Fered. I saw him on my way towards the Ash Scouts actually. He was hiding in the corner with another scout, a friendly. Agra was happy that I restored some peace to Kugu Town but he was still worried. I asked him what worried him and he told me that his friend had went up to Dagor Town and hasn't come back. He asked me to make sure he was okay. I felt bad and accepted the quest. Agra promised me a new coat if I succeeded! I really like upgrading my armor and weapons so this really gave me the incentive. The path to the marked spot on the map was far and on the way was a young man in steam armor. He told me to stop. I talked to him and then he told me that there were Darkfire Commandos ahead. I thanked him for the advice and asked his name. He was Eric, just the guy I was looking for!
He gave me the coat that Agra promised and told me face some of those Commandos. They seemed to have a diary that Eric needed. I fought one Commando and found the diary!

I gave it back to him and we both rested at a place he set up. I learned a new skill that used flips to increase the sword's momentum and I couldn't wait to use it! He was young and good looking but this wasn't any time to flirt. I examined my new coat and went to sleep.
