Initial Reaction
The following is a recount of the adventure I had in the Day One of the closed beta. My original impression of the game was great. I immediately connected the Sun God in which they were praying to, to be related to Aztec and Solaire Astora from Dark Souls. The games graphics are buggy at first and not the best, however this is to be expected since it is only in Beta. In my opinion this game has a lot of potential and I am excited to continue playing this game. The story of the Yutonians and the alliance against the modern era seems to be a great story line. I am excited to get on and play through the story and play as a mechanical character after finishing this story line. The concept of mages vs mechanical reminds me a bit of the conquest for South America in which the Spanish and other European countries annihilated the natives.
First Person: Role Playing
Hello, my name is MajorGenius, a Yutonian in Black Gold Online. This is Day One of the closed beta and I have decided to become a Beast Master. The story as of now has decided to insert me into a war between Erlandir and the heretics who are trying to destroy us. An enemy ship arrived to the port and is now attempting to destroy our village. I killed my first Isenhorst soldier with my battleaxe, I pray that my ancestors are proud of my feat. I have got my first companion, a Homodont Beast. This beast is like a majestic wolf with horns and tusks who will be my battle partner. As I rode him, I felt a surge of power like nothing I have ever felt before. I felt connected with the Beast, it was my new partner. I threw my spear at two rangers and annihilated them, almost instantaneously.
Suddenly, a metal abomination appeared out of nowhere and attacked me. I gave a quick prayer to the Sun God and attacked it. Unfortunately, the machine overwhelmed me as I was enraged by the abomination of itself. I woke up in a village completely unscathed, however my Homodont Beast disappeared, he was nowhere to be found. In my grief an elderly man recognized me, however I have never seen him before. He gave me some money, said it was part of a quest. He then asked me to examine the lake. Feeling obliged and thankful, I headed out to the lake, a mere 10 meters away from where we were talking.
