Hello everyone, this is my version of the new MMO: Black Gold. I have been playing MMOs for 4 years now and tipped my toes in many different games. I really hope to give a good representation of the game as well as a good story experience.
Initial Reaction
Since I have played many other MMOs, my experience would be very critical. The graphics are really nice and nothing to fancy but shows the game in a really nice presentation. The HUD is not in the way and that really helps since there is a lot going on in game. It has a traditional movement system where the camera is adjusted by the right click. I started off as a female blade master and the class really follows my style of playing, as I hoped it would. The movement isn't very dynamic since it's a 8-direction movement system that is really noticeable. Combat is quite generic, which isn't a problem at all. Interestingly enough, I had to run the game on Low-Level graphics settings and that was still with lag. The game itself is a really cool idea and I liked the race based classes since it wouldn't make sense to give the tribal race a mechanized class. I'm enjoying the game and really hope to progress to high levels.
First Person: Role Playing
Hi, I'm Alphachruch of the Buvontian. This is my first day on Black Gold Online. I am placed in between a war between the Erlandir and our modern army, the Isenhorst. We arrived on the enemy island with a ship loaded with our finest mechs and the greatest warriors. We suffered many defeats and had many victories and today I want to be part of our legacy.
After getting off at Zinsen Island, I was greeted by Magnus Wellington, and I watched as all troops stormed from the ship to the shores. After the army ran ahead, I went further down the shore and was immediately met with Erlandir forces. My skills with my trusty sword came in handy as I sliced away his charms and other nonsense and then defeated him. With that trifle I felt strong and kept going inside the island. Ahead was the village and there were flames and smoke that I could see from here. Alongside me were my fellow warriors that faught off the Erlandir and their winged carriers. Magnus told me that there was a mech on the path ahead of me, and he said that it was mine to use. The mech was strong and had a nice brown color that emitted the industrialization. I sat in the cockpit and turned the key, with that the engine roared to life and I was driving ahead. My attacks were too strong for the oncoming Erlandir and I defeated them simply but shooting from my mini gun. At the end of the path, seemingly out of no where, a lava monster arose. I shot and shot and used missles as well but this was too strong for my rank. I was unprepared for this challenge and I had lost. Eventually, I was found under the rubble of the battle and we had all seen the damage to our forces. It was sad but at least I survived my first battle.
I awoke in the village and noticed that I was completely healthy. To my left was the Garrison Leader Spud Nollet. He noticed that I was from Zinsen Island but he didn't want to talk about it that much because he was also a veteran. We also talked about the Darkfire rebellion and how they didn't like the new steam technology. I fear that one day Ashley Kadden might get assassinated, and I think he should get more protection. Spud also wanted me to meet Ashley himself. I headed west to start my quest. He was standing next to the dirt path in a black coat and a fedora on his head. He seemed to really hate the Darkfire and asked my to serve by defeating some Darkfire Arsonists that were ahead. I walked up to one and he attacked me. Obviously, I could not let this go so I brought out my sword and sliced him away. I killed another paratrooper and this time I noticed that when I fought, black energy would come out of my back in the shape of wings. That looked really cool!
This seemed to be enough to show the Darkfires that enough was enough so I returned to Ashley and he applauded my victory. He also gave me some coin to appreciate me.
He then told me to go visit Laurence Ford. Laurence was right across the bridge over the river. He told me about the horrors of poisoned villagers at Dagor Village. Mr. Ford also said that the corrupted Buvontian officers were the real people at fault. He really thought that Darkfires could stop the bleak future made by people like Ashley Kadden. Next up, I had to find Anderson Peres. I thought following the path would take me to him. He was in a factory that was on the right side of the path. I informed him of the Darkfires not agreeing for a truce. He sounded as if he expected that even thought the Darkfire numbers were low here. I had to go meet Murphy Langman to discuss more of the dam and the Darkfires. Anderson gave me a nice steam powered ride to get there.
I'm really surprised as to how fast it got me to Murphy. He was worried about the Darkfires and asked me to lower their paratroopers.
Across from him were a bunch of scattered paratroopers. I walked up to one and he had no response. My mission was to kill, or at least make sure he couldn't do anything. I fought him and won. I decided I should do more than kill one but also kill another so that they really can't hurt us. I ran back over to Murphy Langman and told him the job was done. He rewarded me with 40 coins and declared that he would ask the Royal Army to send some anti-air carriers here. That seemed like a good idea. Before I left, Murphy told me about a dungeon with great treasures inside but were guarded my many beasts. He told me to check one out because he thought I was strong enough. After leaving him and walking toward the dungeon I decided to rest for the day. While resting I tried out a new skill that I perfected while fighting.
The skill was strong and could slice through and tree or Darkfire. Satisfied I laid down to sleep. Tomorrow i would be entering a dungeon to find shiny treasure!
